The Robotics Engineer will contribute to the development of the Company autonomous road maintenance platforms throughout their life cycles, working under the direction of and reporting directly to the Technical Director. This includes, but not limited to, the selection of the main components, mechatronics components and algorithms for the Company’s products etc. It is expected that the Robotics Engineer will work closely with hardware, software and mechatronics engineers to optimise and test hardware and software interactions, and consistently apply best practices.
Liaison with customers and other stakeholders are required to review user feedback and aid development. Performance will be assessed based on the amount and quality of contribution to the launch of successful products. Prior work experience as a Robotics Engineer with an ability to develop autonomous platforms, as well as the ability to document requirements and specifications are required. Experience with autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence and machine learning are desired. Responsibilities and Duties
• Work with the team to develop products in accordance with Company plans • Proactively work on identification of functionalities that would be helpful embedding
in Company products • Participate in the design and implementation of the autonomous platforms for the
Company’s products and help translate the high level market requirements into concrete technical implementations captured in flow charts, layouts and documentation
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. • Perform and support mechanical design, manufacturing and assembly of
components and products according to Company plans • Support development of electrical circuits and code design as required to develop
components and products • Support development of code design as required to develop components and
products • Provide timely support for design, production and maintenance (including post-sale)
of Company products • Manage the autonomous platform architecture and hardware/software stacks • Log production issues and troubleshoot these • Review and assess the engineering aspects of project changes • Discuss requirements with and visit customers, suppliers, technology partners etc as
required • Coordinate engineering activities of sub-contractors as required
• Assist the Technical Director to monitor the progress of projects to ensure that the design, development, construction, testing and financial targets are met, effecting remedial work where necessary
• Report of project and production progress on a monthly basis • Participate in the development and monitoring of the Company’s Quality Control
procedures • Maintain technical standards to ensure safe and successful project implementation
and product reliability • Assist Technical Director and Company management to identify future market
opportunities • Assist the Technical Director to train and supervise junior members of the team as
required • Contribute to the writing up of funding proposals • Any other duties and responsibilities as required by the Company from time to time
