People Advisor – HR team – (12-18 months maternity cover)

I am currently looking for a People Advisor to join the HR team of a client of mine. They are a manufacturer of luxury static homes, based in Rushden. Your role would be to support with Recruitment, Inductions, Learning & Development, Advice and Guidance, Absence Management, Ad hoc, Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion while you work in partnership with managers and colleagues to deliver plans and solutions in line with the needs of the company.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Working closely with the Recruitment team and managers, assist with induction of new starters to ensure that all right to work requirements are met and new starter paperwork is returned.  

• Support the probationary review process with the relevant team leader ensuring employees are reviewed on a monthly basis and any performance improvements are discussed with the employee within their probation. 

• Co-ordinate onsite training courses where required including invites, attendance log and certificates ensuring all documentation is retained, logged and filed appropriately on employee files.

• Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.

• Provide day to day advice to employees and line managers on HR related queries escalating more complex issues to the HR Business Partner or Head of People.

• Support in formal processes and meetings, such as appraisals, employee disciplinaries/investigations, probationary reviews and Grievances, ensuring consistency and policies and procedure are adhered to. 

• Prepare invite letters and paperwork in preparation for formal meetings and ensuring timely issue of outcome correspondence and meetings note are issued to employee. 

• Ensure processes are carried out in line with statutory and legal compliance.

• Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.

• Support managers on the absence process ensuring consistent application of process and action is recorded and actioned in a timely manner.

• Maintaining a clear understanding of the legal framework within which HR operates, assisting in the development of HR policies in line with current legislation and keeping abreast of modern HR procedures and best practice.

• Delivering key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, employee engagement and performance management as required.

• Ensure safe working practices are maintained and current legislation adhered to

• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the company equality and diversity policy.
