Torque Consulting are exclusively working with a Construction Management company who are looking to quickly hire an experienced Assistant Project Manager to oversee construction projects throughout NYC and the Boroughs. This is an opportunity to join a great Construction Management company specializing in commercial interior projects. Please do not apply if you do not have experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of commercial interior projects from inception to completion.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare and track project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and project progress reports.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including soliciting bids, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project expenses, track costs, and ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Assist in the resolution of any project-related issues, conflicts, or disputes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction project management, with a focus on interior projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with New York City building codes and regulations (preferred).
