This company are a global automotive supplier who cover all sections of the industry, specialising in mechanism, structures, suspension, and niche vehicles. Struggling to fill several positions in the machine shop, they reached out to Torque Consulting for help.


To understand the challenges the client faces with these positions and then develop a joint strategy to fill the roles as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Challenges Faced

This company are not based in the most accessible location for the majority of engineers based in the UK, so finding suitable talent within a commutable radius was the first challenge for Team Torque, the last thing we wanted to do was secure people who would struggle to keep up the drive after a few weeks.

Due to the nature of the work they carry out, the level of skill required for the candidate to be successful was high, this meant understanding the role inside out was absolutely essential.

Lastly, the roles required this candidate to work on the night shift and with the manager want a perfect CV, the need for a Torque to step in was quite clear.


Firstly, we conducted a large amount of market research, contacting engineers of all skill sets and locations to understand would this role suit them considering money and the fact it was working the night shift. We gathered all this information and sent it across to our client in a progress report format.

We then sat down with the HR team and hiring managers to run through the progress report and then further dig into what exactly they were looking for in each role. Not only skill set but also personal background, this allowed us to explain that the CV’s sent over are worthy of an interview as the detail they gave Torque meant we could extensively qualify them.

Off the back of this, we then worked through the talent pool delivering a number of CV’s which were all interview and 4 in total offered.
